Introduction To Cities

  • Cities are player-built structures that are marked on the dynamic map.

  • Cities have tiers, ranging from 1, to 6.

    • Tier 6 cities are referred to as "Global Capitals"

  • City tier depends on the amount of structures in the city. Tier 1 cities require 10 buildings, tier 2 cities require 20, so on and so forth.

    • Tier 6 cities are the exception to this rule.

  • Cities have income based on their tier. Tier 1s make $5,000 daily, Tier 2s make $12,000 daily, so on and so forth.

  • Tier 6 cities are special, as there can only be one tier 6 at any given time.

    • What promotes a tier 5 city to a tier 6 is the attention to detail and effort that was put into the city. This is subjective, and due to the importance of tier 6 cities, they're decided exclusively by the administrator team instead of the helper/moderator team.

  • Tier 6's are strategic in the fact they tax 10% of every other city's daily income.

  • Tier 6's can be demoted.

  • Cities also give additional claimpower to their faction.

  • Tier 1 and 2 cities do not give passive income on their own, instead they boost the capital's income.

    • For example, if my capital is a Tier 5, and I have 3 Tier 1s in my nation, then my Tier 5s standard $50,000 income will be boosted to $65,000.

Large buildings still count as smaller buildings, for example a big skyscraper would count as one large build, but it'll also count as smaller builds.

City Guidelines

For cities to be marked, they must follow these guidelines.

  1. For clarity: A "Build" is defined as an independent or distinct structure within a city that has effort applied to it, while a Large Build is considered to be a build that is larger relative to the rest of the city's builds.

  2. Builds must have effort applied, tiny builds are not counted. High quality and large builds count as several, the amount is subjective however.

    1. Rule of thumb is 5x5 and under are considered tiny builds and therefore are not counted towards the total. 5x5 builds being counted is the exception not the rule.

    2. Builds that are for a lack of a better term, lazy are usually not counted, below is an example of what we define as a lazy, or relatively bad build.

Example of a low effort build.
  3. Interiors are not required, however they will boost how many builds a building counts as.

    1. Basic interiors boost the overall building by 1 build, while more advanced interiors will boost it further.

    2. Interiors are counted as builds with basic seating, lighting, beds, and other furniture. Or in the case of a store or factory, the different machines, appliances, overall immersion is what is counted as an interior. The detail of the interior can range from basic to more advanced techniques.

    Example of interior detail.
  4. City detail is also accounted, for example bridges, roads, fountains, statues, billboards, overall detail that brings a city together is counted.

    1. Overall city detail is important, as it can raise a tier 2 to a tier 3, or in some cases (if bad enough) demote a tier 3 to a tier 2.

Example of a city feature/detail that would be counted towards the total.
  5. Repeating builds multiple times in the same city isn't recommended, if a build is repeated more than a certain amount of times then it will be counted for less in the build total.

    1. Changing color schemes of builds to add variety to a city (while keeping the same repeated build) is perfectly fine, and will not result in the aforementioned penalty.

  6. Cities that are copied and pasted, meaning built using a schematic of a previously made city in the current season, are not eligible.

  7. Schematica printer, and easyplace are explicitly allowed, and can be downloaded here.

  8. Cities must connect back to their capital either by road, or by sea.
