Nations
Introduction to Factions
What are Nations?
FactionsUUID (Abbreviated to Factions) is the claim plugin present on GeoQuest. Player-made Factions are commonly referred to as Nations.
The Factions plugin allows players to claim 16x16 regions called "chunks".
Claiming a chunk denies other players from opening chests, breaking and placing blocks, using levers and doors, etc.
Nations owners and officers can invite other players to their faction.
Nations can also create Cities which are multi-block structures that give their Suzerain extra claim power, and daily income.
Essentials
The world is divided into 16x16 block regions referred to as "Chunks".
Unclaimed chunks are referred to as wilderness.
Anyone can grief, steal, and murder in wilderness.
Chunks can be claimed by nations to protect builds, loot and players. So it's a good idea to use as much of your claim power as possible.
You can only claim wilderness chunks.
Creating a Nation
Creating a Nation costs money, so make sure that you've grinded enough money before you consider starting a Nation.
To create a Nation, run
/f create <nation name>
.Claiming chunks costs money, you can deposit money into your faction by running
/f money deposit <amount>
To withdraw money from your faction, run
/f money withdraw <amount>
The chunk you were standing in as you ran the command will be automatically claimed under your nation. You can expand your territory by using the commands shown below.
/f autoclaim
will automatically claim chunks as you walk into them. This command is often used to outline hollow claims./f claimfill
will fill in a outlined claim. This is used to fix hollow claims./f claim <radius>
this will claim within the specified radious. You can also set your faction's home with
/f sethome,
you can teleport to your home with /f home.
You can check your faction's members, description, and claimpower by running
/f who
.
Claim power and claim limits
All Nations have a claim limit referred to as "Claimpower", for every one claim power a Nation has, they can claim one chunk as long as they're under their claim limit.
Your Nation's claim limit depends on two major factors:
The amount of cities a nation has, and their level.
The amount of players in the nation.
Cities give by far the most claimpower, with tier 1 cities giving 500 claimpower, and tier 5 cities giving 5000 claimpower.
While each player contributes 75 claimpower, there is a nation member limit of 40, meaning a fully filled nation would only have 3000 chunks.
You can invite players into a nation by running
/f invite <player>
Nation dynmap colors
Depending on the Nation's name, they will be granted a special color.
By default, this ranges to current real world nations. For example naming my nation "Germany" grants my nation a black dynmap color.
However, players can request a custom nation color aslong as they have 10+ players currently in their nation.
Nation flags
Nation flags are images shown in your nation's infobox on the dynmap.
Nation flags can be requested via the
flag-request
channel in the discord.Nations can not have memes, NSFW, or profanity on them.
Flags are required to be 100px tall, and 150 - 200 pixels wide.

Nation and claim guidelines
Hollow claims are defined as empty pockets within a outlined claim. Hollow claims are not allowed.
Snake claims are defined as 1, to 5 chunk thick appendages that spur off of a Nation's claim. Snake claims are not allowed
Vulgar Nation names are not allowed under any circumstance.
Claim blocking is defined as blocking another Nation's illegal claim from being fixed.
Ocean claiming is defined as claiming ocean chunks that are further than 10 chunks from your Nation's coastline.
Coastline is defined as either:
A) The Nation's natural coastline.
B) The Nation's extended coastline from infrastructure. For example, if a Nation builds a city, road, or railway that goes over water, it is considered to be extending the natural coastline.
Non-European nations cannot claim in Europe.
Nations that break claim guidelines are required to fix them within a 24 hour period. Failure to fix the claim results in the nation being deleted. Nations are notified about their illegal claim via the illegal-claims
channel in the discord. If a Nation's leader can not be found in the discord, the staff are obligated to place a 10x10x10 black-wool pyramid above the offending nation's faction home, with the illegal claim's information on it.
Fixing hollow claims
Hollow claims are claims that appear to be filled in on the dynmap, but aren't filled in in-game.
You can check if your claim is hollow by running
/f map
.Failure to fix hollow claims within 24 hours can result in Nation deletion.
Fixing a hollow claim is relatively simple. Walk into the hollow area, and run
/f claimfill
.If you have enough claimpower, your claim will now be filled.
If you do not have enough claimpower, consider downsizing your claim outline.
