Introduction to the economy

Economy introduction

  • The economy is an admin shop based economy, meaning there is no supply or demand. Prices are for the most part static.

  • We divide items into two main categories:

    • Advanced items are typically slimefun items, or items that are more crucial to slimefun than other items. Advanced items are only buy-able and Sell-able through the advanced items trader at trade posts.

    • Basic items are everything else, they can be bought and sold in /shop, however basic items sell for 3.5x their value at trade posts.

  • Trade posts are safezones on the map that can be traveled to either by boat, or by movecraft ships.

    • Trade posts sell and buy advanced items.

    • Basic items sell for 3.5x their value at trade posts.

    • Each trade post has a special "Cargo" item.

      • Cargo can be bought from one trade post for low, and sold at another trade post for high. However, you can only buy and sell these cargo items via movecraft ships.

  • You also gain passive income via cities.

City income

  • Cities give passive daily income. You can see city income here.

    • However, Tier 1 - 2 cities do not give income on their own, they only boost the nation's capital income (as long as the capital is a tier 3)

  • Tier 6 cities also tax 10% of every other city's income.

Cargo

  • Cargo is another form of making money, however it is risk-reward.

  • Each trade post has a Cargo Trader.

  • Cargo traders sell and buy dedicated cargo prices for different rates at different trade posts.

    • For example, Silk can be bought from the Chinese trade post for $7.35, and then sold at the European trade post for $12.30.

  • Cargo can easily be loaded and unloaded to and from movecraft ships.

    • This essentially means you can load thousands of cargo items onto a single movecraft cargo ship.

    • You can bulk-sell cargo by holding the cargo item you want to sell, and then running /unload.

    • You can buy cargo in bulk by holding the cargo item you want to buy, and then running /load

Combine this with Points Of Interest, and it becomes apparent that some trade routes are naturally faster and better then others.
